When is Ash Wednesday?

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, which this year is February 17.

Amy Welborn has a new family Lenten from Creative Communications for the parish. More information here.

Draw your family closer to the Lord, praying together and fostering strong spiritual habits each day of Lent.

Lent invites us to “return to the Lord” with our “whole heart.” This daily devotional is designed for families to put their faith into practice, by practicing good spiritual habits. Written by popular author Amy Welborn, this booklet encourages parents and families to grow together during the season of Lent. Welborn suggests six areas of focus for helping family members develop stronger Christian habits—one for each week of the Lenten season. Habits of self-examination, prayer, fasting, charitable giving gratitude and sacrificial love are discussed and prayed about with simple style that is both hopeful and doable.

Support families in the faith by sharing this booklet with members of your church and school. Approachable and full of ideas, it’s a great resource to send home with students to encourage family prayer time and Lenten reflection.
